POSITION: Associate Digital Designer

REPORTS TO: Senior Digital Designer

LOCATION: Los Angeles (partial remote)

Birdy Grey is looking to hire an Associate Digital Designer to help bring the Birdy Grey brand to life digitally, across all aspects of the business, at our rapidly-growing startup. The ability to edit, optimize and output web-ready digital artwork for website, emails, social media, display ads and brand marketing that follow best practices in production and mobile-first design is essential. This role is ideal for someone who is a perfectionist that enjoys the details of design. This role reports directly into the Senior Digital Designer. You will have a front row seat at a quickly growing startup and gain hands-on experience in virtually all aspects of art direction and design.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Email Marketing

• Support in designing weekly evergreen email blasts that follow best practices in production and mobile-first design

Website

• Support in concepting, developing and designing creative assets for website, such as homepage, landing pages and category banners
• Assist in cropping and retouching PDP images for new launches, in accordance to Birdy Grey’s visual guidelines

Performance Marketing & Display Ads

• Support in designing digital marketing ads for display, affiliate, paid social (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest) that follow industry best practices

Social Media

• Assist in creating fun & brand-building graphics & video assets for social media, including Instagram, IG Stories, Pinterest, Youtube and blog

Brand Marketing, Art Direction and Product Design

• Assist in designing & developing artwork for new gifts collection (printed packaging)
• Assist in developing packaging, inserts, hang tags, clothing labels
• Assist in creating printed collateral for events, such as bounceback cards, signage and branded collateral
• Assist in casting, planning and coordination of photoshoots and video shoots
• Assist in constructing creative presentations and brand decks

QUALIFICATIONS & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

EDUCATION: College degree (BA/BS) in graphic design or other design-related field required

EXPERIENCE:

• 2-3 years experience working at a design-centric brand or agency
• Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite; Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign are required
• Knowledge of Lightroom + photo retouching experience is a plus
• Understanding of design principles in both print & digital
• Highly organized and able to tackle multiple projects at once
• Thoughtful with great attention to detail, and a love for organization
• Digitally savvy – passion for social media and online marketing
• Hard working and willing to roll sleeves up - no job is too big or too small
• You have an entrepreneurial spirit. You thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, fluid environment. You are comfortable with ambiguity, and take initiative.
• An understanding of and passion for fashion and interest in bridal
• Experience with Shopify, Klayvio and Asana is a MAJOR plus
• Experience working with a fashion/beauty/lifestyle brand is a big plus
• Skilled in illustration is a plus
